Recently, talks about CBD has been circulating around the globe. Some countries have already countries already legalized the use of CBD, especially in the US and other European countries. The most determinant factor of the legality of CBD is where it was derived from – if it’s from hemp or marijuana.

But what really is CBD and why it’s one of the controversial discussions in the health and medicine world?

CBD (Cannabidiol) is a chemical substance found in the cannabis plant. It can be extracted in many ways and it’s now being used in products like oils and also mixed with food products and supplements. Another substance that’s extracted from the cannabis plant is THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) however, this one’s psychoactive. CBD oil is the most widely used by people suffering from pains, however, as mentioned in the first paragraph, the legality of this substance depends on where it was derived from and oils extracted from the hemp plants are considered legal because they have low (0.03%) or no THC levels.

CBD has many myths. Whether you’re a beginner or a veteran, these myths can be so widespread that it’s difficult to figure out what is fact.

We’ve collected some information and myths surrounding CBD, and here’s a couple of notes about it.

Myth #1: CBD will get you high

This is the reason most people think and say about using CBD but this is not true. As mentioned, the cannabis plant has two components – CBD and THC. CBD extracted from the hemp plant is the one that’s legal because it is a non-psychoactive compound while CBD that’s extracted from the marijuana plant contains THC, which is psychoactive and can have mind-altering effects which can get you high.

The fact is, CBD helps you relax, and it’s also a very good treatment for stress and anxiety. In a study conducted by researchers, called a double-blind procedure, for patients suffering from generalized social anxiety disorder, the participants received an oral dose of CBD. After the consumption of CBD, the comparisons resulted in a decrease in anxiety.

Myth #2: Higher dosage intake leads to better relief

It is always believed that when you consume a higher dosage of medicine, you’ll feel much better and you’ll get well sooner, and this goes the same with CBD intake.

On the contrary, CBD should be taken in the lowest dose possible because the effectiveness of CBD will be lessened if you start with a higher dosage. Once your system is comfortable with the substance, then you can slowly add some amount that would suit your body’s needs or as prescribed by your doctor.

Myth #3: There’s not enough scientific research that supports the health benefits of CBD

There are still doubts and arguments about the use of CBD as an alternative treatment because there are not enough scientific facts to back it up.

The popularity of CBD has resulted in numerous research over the past few years to back up their claims regarding its health benefits. In a clinical study conducted, it has shown an ability to help patients suffering from seizures associated with epilepsy. A low dosage of CBD oil can help reduce the effects of seizures.

Clinical studies are still in the works until now, but there are many scientific shreds of evidence supporting the health benefits of CBD.

Final Thoughts

CBD has a lot of medical and health benefits. It’s another breakthrough that would really help people suffering from different kinds of illnesses. Though there is still some argument, we hope this post should clear up any confusion about CBD and the myths surrounding it.
